Mineral Chemistry of the Lower Cretaceous Jinling Iron Skarn Deposit, Western Shandong Province, North China Craton: Implications for the Iron Skarn Mineralization Process

The source of iron material and the mineralization process skarn deposits within eastern North China Craton are ambiguous. In this study, we present new mineral chemical data Jinling deposit, located in western Shandong Province, east China. Based on petrography study data, suggest that deposit is hydrothermal metallogenic enriched by leaching Fe-rich fluids derived from primitive magmatic melt solidified diorites. formed as a result several processes: (1) exsolved hydrous parental magma was characterized high content, oxygen fugacity (fO2), salinity; (2) Fe content augmented during alkali metasomatism stage via dioritic rocks; (3) diopside garnet skarns under relatively alkaline oxidizing conditions later prograde stage; (4) retrograde stage, amphibole, chlorite, epidote, phlogopite, serpentine, biotite, chlorite more conditions, subsequent mixing with meteoric water triggered precipitation massive magnetite; (5) final sulfide–carbonate involved formation carbonate sulfide minerals change to reducing.
